Again, there has been a break and I am starting to think where I am impacts my writing more than anything else I can conjure up.
Six months less a day is the amount of time per year I spend in Minneapolis with the other half of the year in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. While outside of Canada there are family members to visit and others to spend time with to help foster growing relationships. In Minneapolis I live right downtown so within a few minutes of walking any number of museums, shops, restaurants and theaters can be visited. People come to see me in downtown Minneapolis. In short I seem to be very busy in that place.
In the Lower Mainland, I live in a suburb with Paul and the two cats (they are already well over a year old so Mike and Mara can no longer be called kittens). It is generally a 45-minute drive to downtown which can make one hesitate about driving there without a real purpose in mind. Sure I have friends to do things with in BC, but we are spread out and the friends have families that keep them busy. Heck some even have day jobs. So it means in the Lower Mainland I have less to do and more time to write.
Thus place greatly impacts my creating blog posts. It seems reasonable to me to accept that perhaps half the year posts will be very spotty and the other half there will be more writing. No more apologies about not writing. I write about knitting when there is time. Rest assured plenty of knitting took place while I was away and that you will be brought up to date in the days to come.
For today let me share photos of the beings that keep me most busy in Minneapolis and the Lower Mainland. Both sets are growing so fast with their own personalities that I can scarcely keep up with them.
Miss M is concerned because two bus loads of older kids who have entered her interactive gym space. Miss A is just wondering why this lady keeps taking pictures of her.
Mara now weighs 7 pounds and Mike is 10 pounds. It seems they have lost a bit of weight and lengthened out over the summer. Both seemed happy to see me upon my return; I was worried they might have forgotten me.
As an aside, it took several attempts to get these two close enough together to get a decent photo. Cats are not all that cooperative about posing or staying put in general and since these two are young, they move like the wind if they aren't just awaken from a nap!
