Today will cover a few things that have been happening here in our home.
Last week we had a house guest, Paul's brother, Mark. A good time exploring the Lower Mainland was had by all, plus we ate out, drank at home and saw some of the wonderful natural sights. Mark left on Sunday and on Monday afternoon this lovely box of roses showed up at our door. As I write the air in the living room is filled with the smell of freshly cut long-stemmed roses. Thank you, Mark.

There were even drops of water that looked like dew on the petals! |
Another thing that happened is my impatience in waiting to return to Minneapolis to add the closures to
Waterfall. As we knocked around downtown Vancouver last week I found my way to Dressew where I purchased another set of closures. Here is a look at my Waterfall again with the closures attached. This has a special someone in mind, but I will let it be a surprise.

Now it is complete. |
Mara has become very attached to me again. She tends to want to spend all afternoon curled in my lap. Perhaps it has to do with the cool weather, or perhaps she likes my company; I will never know for sure. The photo below shows how she now completely fills my lap.

Miss Mara as a complete lap full |
Finally, in an effort to continue to knit down my stash I started a new
Dragon Tail by DROPS. You'll remember last year's edition written about
here. Round two will be more subtle since I am using up the odds and ends of the yarn used in Clapotis, Sweet Georgia's Bulletproof Sock yarn in the variegated colourway called Rust, 50% merino, 20% nylon, 15% kid mohair and 15% silk. It is being paired with Deborah Norville's, Serenity sock weight yarn, in a charcoal colour way. (But truth be told it is labeled navy.) This yarn is 50% merino, 25% rayon made from bamboo and 25% nylon. The two yarns work well together. Here's a shot of my meager start with only two tails completed.

I rather like how the streak of variegated yarn fades in and out of the charcoal |
You are now up-to-date regarding what has been going on and how I am using up the odds and end of my stash as well.
