First, Knit Nite. Stephanie Pearl-McPhee said in At Knit´s End:
Second, the Bucky Beanie. It is completed, blocked and drying.
This was a fun relatively quick knit. The first photo was taken before blocking so I could pull it down to cover my identity. The second is after it spent the evening on a balloon getting 85% dry; it will finish drying today.
Making sure I don´t forget a skill I paid to learn I used the Coast Salish technique of wrapping every stitch in the colourwork rather than using floats. Although my skills in this regard have improved, but there is still plenty of room for further improvement. This is what the inside looks like using this technique.
Now on to another project! As Paul reminded me recently: ¨That yarn won´t knit itself.¨
Post Script: Bucky Badger turned 75 years old today. His birthday is the same day I celebrate my blogiversary.
There is nothing that does a knitter´s heart more good than finding a dear, dear friend who knits. There is very little that is more fun than sitting with someone who loves you, laughs at your jokes, and truly wants to have a two-hour conversation on the revelation you had about twisted ribbing.Last night was Knit Night again and there are four of us who meet on Thursdays to knit as regularly as our schedules will allow. We learn from one another, share knitting tales and laugh a lot over tea (it has been decided wine and knitting isn´t as good a combination as it might seem on the surface.) We do a lot of laughing and made plans to attend Knit City this weekend. One member said something like: ¨I am so excited, this will be my first knitting event.¨ The amazing part of this is she really means it and we are all as excited as she is even if it isn´t our first event. Friends like this are a wonderful gift that should not be taken for granted. Thanks, Tena, Pam and Dana! Each of you have enriched my knitting and general life.

Taking a photo where you cover your eyes is tricky. |
