Some of us have a stash that truly needs management. And now I have a stash in the Lower Mainland in BC as well as one, albeit smaller, here in the Twin Cities. So I do own a SABLE (Stash Aquisition Beyond Life Expectancy). Here's the Canadian stash all organzied as of my departure last week.

These are three bookselves of 8 slots each or 24 slots |
Now there is enough yarn in the Twin Cities that I had to figure out a new way to address the mess. I know a plastic bin works for most, but for me yarn gets lost in the bottom never to see the light of day. Plus the bin takes up a lot of valuable floor space in a small place. So when I saw somewhere someone using a hanging shoe storage container for yarn storage the idea stuck. In the condo there are four closets so closet space is available.
Yesterday I trotted off to my local discount store of choice and found the perfect container for under $8 USD. Each slot is about 11 inches by 10 inches (28 X 25.5 cm); that means a good deal of yarn can be stored in its 6 slots. This morning I got everything organized.

It feels good to be organized. As you can see there really is no need for me to purchase any more yarn for some time to come. Somedays I am better at remembering this than others. Aside from the Praire Fire cotton yarn and the Fingerless gloves made of possum yarn, everything else featured this year has been shopped for in my stash. But I know the odds of me walking out of a yarn shop without yarn is slim and every now and then I just have to visit a yarn shop. Perhaps if I just "stick to my knitting" I won't be so tempted. Yeah, whatever. At least what I own now is appropriately organized.
