Last night at Knit Nite we discussed how this long weekend might be a great time to binge on a set of movies or series and, of course, knit. This got me thinking about finding how long certain series might run and the answer was found in an article written by Joe Berkowitz in Fast Company. Berkowitz lists 25 popular series one might choose to binge on, along with the time commitment to finish each.
This got me thinking about what one might be able to knit in the hours spent watching these series. If by watching one means looking up now and then to see just what is happening on the screen and then getting back to your knitting. Paul suggests I do miss a lot when I knit and watch TV, and I'm sure he is right. It seems like a less complete waste of time when I have needles and yarn in my hands however.
So I put together a select list below of some of the most recent series and what might be completed in that time. End products offered here will vary depending on the difficulty of the pattern one selects for each of the items listed, but you get the gist.
If you are watching both games of the Final Four in US basketball instead, there will only be 6-7 hours invested. Unless you make something really, really small, or you knit really, really fast, odds are you won't finish any project.
Should you need to get some knitting done this weekend and are clear to knit away, pick your series and project to match. Whether you are knitting or not, watching a screen or not, have a wonderful Easter weekend.
