My adventure on Sunday morning started out leisurely. Des Moines is an easy one hour drive to Port Orchard and the shop there didn't open until noon. So I slept in, ate a light breakfast at the motel and hit the road about 10:30.
The autumn views of water and turning leaves on the way couldn't be captured because I was driving, but beauty abounded. I like to think of it as eye candy. This painting captures the colours, the burning off of the morning fog and represents well what I saw.
Port Orchard is a city of 12,000 tucked into a quiet cove of Puget Sound. It has a well kept port with natural beauty. Off of Hwy 16 one takes SW Bay Street to get into the heart of the city. This street is tree lined and the homes are well maintained. It seemed to be the perfect type of setting for any one of Debbie Macomber's books. I now better understand some of her inspirations and motivations; Port Orchard appears to offer that type of idyllic setting for writing.

A Good Yarn |
Debbie Macombers's, A Good Yarn Shop did not disappoint. It is a large, bright with natural light and plenty of wonderful yarn. See that little pile of yarn at the end of the table? That bunch of yarn has now joined the rest of my stash.
After a hour or so in the shop I moved to the port. The views were wonderful so I stayed, knitting away for just under 2 hours. This was what I had to deal with during that time.
Then back to SeaTac, a great dinner and a good night's sleep ended Sunday of the trip.
Monday morning I stopped at Little Knits' new location, 3200 Airport Way S. #110, Seattle. Little Knits is a warehouse online yarn shop, but I stopped to pick up an order I had placed earlier. Since they recently moved into this new location I was asked to take no photographs. You'll have to take my word for it, this warehouse is huge, so more than likely whatever yarn you want you'll find at a price that will make you happy.
Thus ends my personally designed Fiber Run. I came home with enough yarn to keep me knitting for months still smiling about all I saw and did.
