Yes, yes I know it has been a while. I have this thing called work and it sometimes distracts me, then I have holidays or vacations and they, too, distract me. But I am now back and have a few things I've completed while we were apart.
Remember U900 with Rabbit U and Bear 900? It was way back in January of this year. If you don't quite remember, here's a reminder

U900 Ukulele |
They have these wonderful videos you can watch, just search for U900 and be sure to add ukulele or you'll be looking at phones. (Just for a quick aside, I visited one of my sons recently and he was humming a couple of their songs. He seemed pleased he remembered the songs associated with these little guys. I have such a weird influence on my boys/men! The family that watches videos together stay together I guess.)
At any rate after much working to achieve articulated arms (pipe cleaners work well for this) and several failed attempts to cause the legs to support the body (an idea I was not able to achieve), sourcing just the right material for his teeth, vest and of course the "U", here's my version of Rabbit U:

Flagel's very own Rabbit U |
No, I didn't add the gold glove for his right-hand and he will have to sit or somehow be braced from the back, but in general I am very satisfied with the results. Since I have now learned about the articulated arms and not to try to achieve a support system for the legs, Bear 900 should move along much more quickly. As you can see I have his cute little head already complete:

Hang in there as I finish him. I do believe both of these guys will become one-of-a-kind since I wrote nothing down about what I did or did not do, and I believe my skills in crocheting are stronger with a pattern than without. But I did enjoy this quick voyage into design and have found out as I near the end of the trip that indeed, design is not my forte.
Thanks for bearing (pun intended) with me while I was away!
