I now have 100 posts so I don't remember where to look for something I wrote even if it's only a month or so ago since it was written. For instance, someone at the end of the work week on Friday came into my office to talk about her knitting project, and of course I had to talk about mine. I mentioned the wall flower project and she asked if I had a photo on my blog. I knew there was one, but for the life of me I couldn't remember the title of the post or when I posted it. I did find it eventually but the process took far too long.
Part of the reason for writing here is to help ensure I can remember where I found patterns, store the photos of my final projects after they have been shared, and to have a tool to show others what I'm doing. Yes, indeed, it is a very selfish endeavour. But what good is any of this if I can't find what I want when I want it. So I took a quick trip through Blogger's help section, and even for me, with my limited tech skills, found everything I needed to set up a search function for this blog. All it took was clicking the appropriate "yes," to one option and save. The change couldn't have been easier.
If you're inclined to want to search my blog check out the search box in the upper left-hand corner above the name, Flagel Knitting Files. There's a University of Texas (this ones for you, Sue), burnt orange colour block with a stylised capital B. Type the word you're looking for and all my posts using that word will appear.
Before closing here's a photo of those buttons I thought I might use on the kimono sweater. There are 7 of them on the top of a penny. (This is the most difficult photo I've ever taken; I have about 30 photo rejects on my camera. There's something about getting the close up without a shadow and having everything clear.) These little cuties will show up on something, you can be sure.
Micaela, thanks for asking about the search engine for my blog. Who knows how long it might have taken to get me to look into it without your suggestion. (Now, I just have to figure out how to get the Labels alphabetized instead of merely listed in chronological order and/or times used; but that's for another time. I don't want to press my luck with the technology gods today.)
